That grill in your backyard wasn't cheap. Whether you spent $2,000 on a freestanding grill or $10,000+ on a built-in outdoor kitchen, regular professional cleaning is the easiest way to keep it working and looking good for years.
What grease and carbon actually do to a grill
Burners
Grease and food particles clog burner ports, which causes uneven flames, hot spots and eventually burner failure. Burners that run hot and uneven also warp grates and heat shields.
Igniters
Carbon and grease coat the igniter electrodes until they can't spark reliably. It often starts with a lot of clicking and ends with a grill that won't light.
Heat shields and flavorizer bars
These sit right under the grates and catch most of the drippings. Built-up grease traps moisture against the metal, speeding up rust and burn-through, and it's the main fuel for flare-ups.
Stainless steel
Stainless steel resists rust, but it isn't rust-proof. Grease, salt, hard-water spots and pool chemicals (chlorine is especially hard on stainless) break down its protective layer and leave pitting and brown "tea staining." A lot of Coachella Valley grills sit a few feet from a pool, so this one matters here.
The parts that fail first on neglected grills
- Burners
- Ignition systems and electrodes
- Heat shields, heat tents and flavorizer bars
- Grease trays
- Control valves
On premium grills, each of these can cost from about a hundred to several hundred dollars in parts and labor, and some parts take weeks to arrive. When several fail at once, people start pricing out a whole new grill.
Cleaning vs. repairs vs. replacing: the simple math
- Professional deep cleaning: $250–$350 booked online, once a year for most grills (see prices)
- One or two major part replacements: often several hundred dollars
- Replacing a built-in grill early: thousands, plus the hassle of fitting a new unit into your island
A yearly cleaning won't make a grill last forever, but it removes the grease and carbon that wear out the expensive parts. It also includes an inspection, so small problems get caught while they're still small.
Real results
One Google reviewer put it this way:
“Javier turned my 8 year old 36 inch Bull BBQ into showroom condition, incredible transformation. Further he somehow got all burners working perfectly.”
— Rick M.
An 8-year-old grill with every burner working again didn't need replacing. It needed a proper cleaning.
What our maintenance cleaning covers
- Burner port cleaning to prevent clogs and uneven heat
- Grease system cleaning to prevent corrosion and flare-ups
- Heat shield and flavorizer restoration for even heat distribution
- Component inspection to catch small issues before they get expensive
- Stainless polish to protect the finish
